Tutankhamun an ancient Egyptian king (Pharaoh) who was the
last in the royal family to rule in the mid 18 th dynasty. His father was
Akhenaten who ruled Egypt for a long term died and King Tut came to power at a
very young age of 8. He was assisted by his uncle “Ay” in all aspects of his
life such as war, finance and construction of cities in and around Egypt.
Egyptians
believe that marriage outside the royal family would bring curse upon the
nation and he as a result he married his half-sister Ankhesenamun. Soon they
had twin babies who were still born.
By birth Tutankhamun was a weak child as
his father married within the close family. King Tut had a genetic disorder called
bone necrosis which resulted in an incomplete bone in his legs, hence he
carried a walking stick with him. The art depicting King Tut shows clearly that
without assistance he couldn’t move from one place to another.
This made king
Tut vulnerable and Ay started to plan his murder and take over the position of
the young Pharaoh. Naive about the entire chaos swirling around him, king Tut
continued to believe his uncle Ay and followed his instructions. Ay was an Eagle
just waiting for his catch. During his period King Tut built many cities and
overlooked the army. His reason of death was still unknown to this date but CT
scan reports of his mummy reveals that his ribs was broken during death which
could have happened possibly due to a chariot clash. ‘Ay’ becomes the successor
and comes to power.
The evidence of King Tuts burial site explains his burial
was carried out in a hurry that they have to steal things that he must possess
in his tomb for his afterlife was actually stolen from other tombs. This indicates
that he died mysteriously while Ay was in a hurry to get on the throne. The
dreams, love, ambition of a young king was tragically put to an end and the
story of young naive king was over. Power and wealth, are the things that a
human will even kill to achieve it. Snakes and Vipers always surrounds naive goats.
